SSS STAR funded for another five years Bloomfield College is again the recipient of the Student Support Services Grant award through the federally funded TRIO program. This five-year grant will fund the college’s SSS STAR program at $255,505.00 per year. International students wind up their time at Bloomfield CollegeAccording to Joseph Caporale, director of the American Language Center, “Thirteen countries were represented on campus this summer during the international students programs. Faculty and students came from Brazil, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Italy, Japan, Korea, Peru, Uruguay, Thailand, and Romania.” Bar-A – the place to be when “down the shore.”Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, NJ, aka Bar-A, hosted several alumni reunions, including Bloomfield College. The cost of admission was $10 with an all-you-can-eat bar-b-que, reduced priced drinks, and DJs with dancing. In spite of a short-lived downpour, the alumni had a wonderful time. West comes East – College hosts Korean nursing facultyBloomfield College continues to widen its global scope through exploring exchange agreements with colleges and universities around the world. This week the college hosted eight faculty members from the Catholic Sangji College of Nursing and one faculty member from Andong Science College in South Korea who were here to observe students from the Korean Nursing Internship Program and meet with hospital nursing administrators about U.S. healthcare systems and to discuss collaborative possibilities.
